Shining a Spotlight on Your Career Journey: The CareerBeam Festival In association with The Times of India, co-powered by Skybags and Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital

On 4th and 5th May, we witnessed a vibrant confluence of students and leading educational institutions at the much-anticipated CareerBeam Festival! Over the two action-packed days, a remarkable 800+ students embarked on a career exploration journey, connecting with representatives from a diverse range of universities and exploring their future academic paths.

This year’s festival truly lived up to its name;  ASCending Beyond the ordinary. With a focus on uncovering possibilities beyond the traditional Arts, Science, and Commerce (ASC) fields, the festival catered to a diverse range of interests and ignited a passion for unconventional careers. The festival boasted a stellar impressive line-up of universities including renowned institutions from abroad like University College London, Rochester Institute of Technology, Strate School of Design, Lehigh University, and many Indian universities such as Amity University, Flame University, and Whistling Woods International. From established names to rising stars, students were presented with an exceptional breadth of academic options to spark their aspirations.

Day 1: Igniting Passion and Charting Paths Beyond the Brochures

The festival kicked off with a high-energy inauguration ceremony, officially welcoming students and setting the stage for a journey of exploration. Throughout the day, a series of thought-provoking panel discussions explored a diverse range of topics. The morning kicked off with an intellectual debate on the influence of performing arts on career paths and the promotion of mental health awareness in today’s educational settings. The exploration of performing arts and career paths painted a vibrant picture for the students by outlining the challenges faced in traditional notions of success.

Filmmaking enthusiasts peeked behind the curtain, discovering the magic that goes into crafting a moving story. Design aficionados explored the ever-evolving canvas, from fashion to product creation. Environmentally conscious students discovered how to align their career aspirations with sustainability goals and innovative solutions for a greener tomorrow.

By the end of the day, students weren’t just informed, they were ignited – ready to write their own chapters in a world brimming with possibility. The energy remained high as students eagerly awaited the interactive workshops and in-depth discussions planned for Day 2.

Day 2: Deep Dives and Interactive Sessions

Day 2 was equally vibrant and energetic as Day 1. The insightful panel sessions tackled critical contemporary issues with a direct bearing on students’ future careers. Thought-provoking conversations explored how to tackle contemporary issues like diversity and inclusion in the workplace, the power of social media for positive change, and navigating the complex intersection of technology and mental well-being. These discussions weren’t just about knowledge acquisition; they empowered students to become informed and critical thinkers, fostering the very skills essential for future success.

In addition to these dedicated sessions on both days, the festival was further enriched by the presence of SkyBags and Edufund, who provided valuable resources and support to the attendees. Students enjoyed free fun activities like dart throwing at the SkyBags booth and participated in a scholarship test, providing them with a chance to win financial aid in support of their academic aspirations. The festival also featured a cutting-edge VR gaming section where students had the opportunity to recharge while exploring potential future career paths within the same field, adding an exciting dimension to their festival experience.
